FML!

As of yesterday, Nate had been home two full days.  Yesterday afternoon my phone starts blowing up.  First it's his sponsor, and Flight is pitching a fit about him not checking in.  Which is DUMB!  If he were on leave anywhere else he would have no where to check into.  So there is no reason for him to check in.  Then Aurora housing calls him, telling him that the Legal Office called wanting his information, but they were not going to give it out.  So he calls the Legal Office back and Osan's Legal Office called them to call him.  They want him back at Osan to testify at that CM!!!!  ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?!?  Even better, the Captain on the phone wanted us to use our frequent flier miles to get him back there!  The Cpt. tells him that he needs to go in-process to get gained by this base, so they can cut orders.  Two minutes later Nate's new shop chief is on the phone (with the CC on speaker) and telling him how this makes him sound like a trouble maker.  Great.

Fast forward to this morning, and we drive all over the place trying to find the Shirt.  Finally, he gets in there to talk to the Shirt and the CC.  They, thankfully, think this is all BS.  They are going to try to work it all out.  Nate even brought up how much this stupidity is going to cost the AF.  A plane ticket to Korea on this short of notice is going to be a couple of grand, then land travel to/from base and Per Diem.  They're looking at $5000+ for one or two day trial.  We just don't understand why he can't video conference or make a statement here.  Not that he didn't make 19 pages of statements there.  Seriously, I would have been pissed if they would have kept them there for this BS.  But coming and going is going to kill the kids.  I know it's only a few days.  But it sucks.  We thought that since they let him leave that this was all done.  We thought the kid was going to plead guilty.  But the dumb ass thinks he can fight this.  What an idiot!

I am glad that his supervision is going to fight for him.  It makes me happy that he will be working for people that will go to bat for him.  We've been places where supervision would have said, "Oh that sucks." and "Suck it up."  But they agree it's idiotic.  It makes me think that this assignment will be a good one.  It's always great to work for good people.  So that is my positive spin on this.

If anything they are trying to get this postponed until he at least checks in from leave.  But IF he has to report next week, they said they will call and tell us by COB today.  It's almost COB, so I'm hopeful.  If not he's gone again on Tuesday.  UGH.  Oh well, we will have the whole weekend.  That's more than we've had this past year.  I'll take it for now.  But I am hoping that he will never have to go back!  That they can work something out so he can do his testimony here!  A girl can dream can't she?
